New Job at Thorpe Park!
25/06/2025

I've just started my absolute dream job as a costume designer and maker for Thorpe Park!! I'm going to be making the costumes for the UK's biggest Halloween event Fright Nights!! Whilst I can't share all the exciting stuff I'm working on for now, watch this space for some super exciting costumes to come! I'm honestly so proud of myself having already found work in my chosen career path and (hopefully) thriving there too! 2025 has been a decent year so far, and I'm super excited for the even more cool stuff to come later this year!
Plunge Creations Placement!
13/06/2025

I've just spent the last 2 weeks doing the most incredible work placement at Plunge Creations in Portslade! This team are well known for their work creating mascot costumes for all areas of the industry. I've learnt so many valuable skills from the guys in the costume team and the production team too! It's been an incredible couple of weeks, and whilst I can't yet disclose the projects I helped work on, I can assure you they are super exciting and I can't wait to see them all finished in the new year!! Thanks so much for the opportunity guys!!!
I've Been Nominated for an Award?!
24/03/2025

I'm still super shocked! I opened my emails this afternoon and I've been nominated for a UAL Arts Award for Outstanding Student Contribution to Community for my work on Unit 6 (the Dudley project). I just cannot believe that I would be recognised for the time I took to make sure that project went smoothly for us all. I just wanted to make sure we all had a great time and I had no idea it meant so much to people. So so grateful to have been nominated! Love you all!!! xxx
New Project Alert!
17/02/2025

I've started the next project, it's focused on the Greek Tragedy of Medea and I'm working from an altered version of a block print from a 1780s ballet production of Medea. I am working to create it as a theme park attraction and hopefully some day will develop this ride concept in software?? I chose greens and a splash of red as my colour scheme (the original is black and white) which reflects the themes of jealousy and passion, thank you Scarlett Alborough for your amazing English skills! Super excited for this new adventure!
Dudley is Finished!!
24/01/2025

Everything is complete!! Officially!
The head is painted, the accessories made, the finishings added.. he's ready for his camera moment!
Honestly I couldn't be prouder of the work the three of us have completed and Emili and Nina are just incredible and I love our team, I will be sad to leave them after this project, The shoot is on Tuesday and the Showcase on Thursday (30/01) and I am so so excited to share our work with everybody!
Final Fitting Day
21/01/2025

This morning we put the head on the full mannequin along with every element of the costume and boy oh boy is it super cool!! Seeing it all put together has been a proud moment for the three of us, and the foam section we added not only bridged the gap but it improved the overall shape at the back especially! Lots of hand sewing left to do and all of the painting for the techs but he has really become the character now!
What a lovely birthday treat for Nina!
Dudley's First Fitting
14/01/2025

Back to uni with the Feast project and Dudley Willingsworth! He's a bearded dragon whose head has been made by Nina Charman and Emili Hill, and whose costume has been made by yours truly! But we had to fit it to the mannequin and he fits!! However he sits a bit too high on the head so next up we are making a foam insert to sculpt on that should bridge the gap.
Exciting times and only 2 weeks to go until the shoot!
