Aoife - Children of Lir

In a collaboration project with 3 designers (Eve Pelley-Stuart, Isabella Pla, and Eve Boothway) and 3 makers (myself, Natasha Edmunson, and Holly Wright), we were tasked to create a costume for the character Aoife from an Irish folk tale titled ‘Children of Lir’. I focused on the cut of all the elements on the costume and construction of the undershirt and dress, and created the print on the sleeves. The cloak was created to reflect her story as the witch who curses the children into swans, and was created by the designers. This was then displayed in an immersive theatre setting, where I performed in front of a few small audiences.
